About

In an era dominated by digital consumption and the volatility of streaming platforms, we firmly believe in the tangible value of music. For this reason, My Space 24 will not be immediately available on traditional streaming portals, at least not until the end of the year. This was a deliberate choice, driven by the desire to encourage and highlight the physical product, offering a complete and immersive listening experience.

We want every note, every vibration captured on this vinyl, to be appreciated in the most authentic way, far from the compression and fleeting nature of digital formats. Owning this record is not just purchasing an album, but embracing a philosophy: that of rediscovering the pleasure of holding a work of art in your hands, leafing through the booklet, and fully immersing yourself in the rich, enveloping sound that only vinyl can offer.

My Space 24 is an invitation to slow down, listen attentively, and connect deeply with the music. A precious edition, crafted for true connoisseurs and for those who still believe in the magic of physical media. — (via Label)

Bianchini, who trained at the Bonporti Conservatory in Trento, brings a unique dual fluency in classical and jazz traditions. A former classical percussionist who studied violin before mastering vibraphone and marimba, he bridges genres effortlessly. That versatility—and deep musicality—shine throughout this, his second Birdbox release following 2022’s 10/5.

From the opening notes of Side A, the record reveals itself as a thoughtful, melodic, and highly refined work. The three original compositions—“Cape Town,” “Tu Dihi,” and “My Voice”—favor subtlety and atmosphere over flash, yet the writing is harmonically rich and emotionally resonant. Bianchini has said he wanted to craft songs that are “more understandable and easier to listen to,” and these pieces reflect that intention without sacrificing depth. The ensemble—Lorenzo Simoni on alto saxophone, Marco Micheli on double bass, and Nelide Bandello on drums—is tight and intuitive, with each player given space to contribute distinct textures and colors.

Side B continues with two more studio tracks before closing with two live performances. Bianchini’s arrangement of Sam Rivers’ “Cyclic Episode” is both respectful and inventive, while his solo rendition of a Bach lute suite on vibraphone is nothing short of mesmerizing—a graceful nod to his classical foundation. The two live tracks, including the Miles Davis-associated “Summer Nights” by Harry Warren and the closing original “Come Saprei,” cap the record with energy and finesse. — (via Audiophilia)
